The Lovely Bone (2021)
Bone is a record of human body growth. I use “the lovely bone” to record things that I consider interesting and translate them into sculptural forms in ceramics. I made this piece of bone-inspired by the lives of the women around me. Its shape is inspired by the female pelvic bone. The glaze on the surface aims to imitate an old cabinet with faded colors. In a patriarchial society, young women are adorned and treated as decorative objects, and their “value” deflated overtime.
I am not sure how I should react to this.
