The Lottery  (2019)

Human beings live in groups. A personal intention may not be conflicted with the direction of the group , but at what point a person becomes obedient to the dictates of the group to the extent that they are not aware of their own thinking. This piece records some thoughts derived from The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, which describes a terrific “celebration” of an enclosed village and unconciously conducts “banality of evil.”
